The July 2026 edition highlights that Bangladesh exported $4.0 billion worth of apparel in July 2026, with knitwear continuing to account for the larger share of exports at 55 per cent.

Wazir Advisors, in collaboration with Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (CED)-BRAC University (BRACU), and the Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA), has launched the inaugural edition of the Bangladesh C Global Apparel Trade Update, a monthly report designed to provide timely insights into Bangladesh’s apparel exports, global trade trends, retail demand, and competitive positioning.

The report brings together key developments from Bangladesh’s apparel sector alongside trends across major global sourcing markets, enabling manufacturers, exporters, policymakers, brands, investors, and development organizations to make informed business decisions based on current market intelligence.

Commenting on the launch, Varun Vaid, Executive Director, Wazir Advisors, said, “Reliable and actionable market intelligence has become essential for businesses operating in today’s dynamic global apparel industry. Through this monthly report, we aim to provide industry stakeholders with concise, data-driven insights that support better business decisions and strengthen strategic planning across the apparel value chain.”

The July 2026 edition highlights that Bangladesh exported $4.0 billion worth of apparel in July 2026, with knitwear continuing to account for the larger share of exports at 55 per cent. Despite short-term market softness in major destinations such as the EU and the United States, Bangladesh remains the world’s second-largest apparel exporter, underlining the industry’s resilience and long-term importance in global sourcing.

Fazlee Shamim Ehsan, Executive President, BKMEA, said, “Bangladesh’s knitwear industry continues to demonstrate resilience and remains a key driver of the country’s apparel exports. As global sourcing patterns evolve, timely market intelligence will help our manufacturers identify emerging opportunities, strengthen competitiveness, and expand Bangladesh’s position in international markets.”
The monthly report will provide regular updates on Bangladesh’s apparel exports, global apparel imports and exports, supply chain insights, retail sales, and e-commerce trends across key markets, offering stakeholders a comprehensive view of the evolving global apparel landscape.

Afshana Choudhury, Head of CED-BRAC University, said, “Strong collaboration between academia and industry is essential for building a more competitive and future-ready apparel sector. This joint report reflects our commitment to promoting evidence-based research, informed dialogues, and knowledge co-creation that can support sustainable growth and policy development for Bangladesh’s apparel industry.”

The collaboration between Wazir Advisors, CED-BRAC University, and BKMEA aims to bridge the gap between industry data and strategic decision-making in the apparel sector. By combining Wazir’s global consulting expertise, CED-BRACU’s academic research capabilities, and BKMEA’s deep industry networks, the report is expected to serve as a valuable resource for stakeholders seeking to navigate the evolving dynamics of global apparel trade.
