Mumbai fair spotlights sustainable tech textiles and global partnerships.
The 10th edition of Techtextil India 2025 concluded at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai, marking a robust showcase of India’s growing capabilities in value-added technical textiles. The three-day event attracted 9,144 visitors from 235 Indian cities and 45 countries, with strong buyer participation led by Western India. A total of 216 exhibitors representing over 300 brands presented innovations across 12 application areas, keeping the exhibition floor active throughout.
Positioned as a key sourcing and knowledge platform, the show connected fibre producers, technology providers, converters, brand owners and end users from sectors including mobility, healthcare, construction, filtration, protection and sportswear. Backing from industry associations and state textile departments reinforced its role in encouraging investment and collaboration within India’s technical textiles ecosystem.
Highlighting the policy perspective, R Lalitha, IAS, Director of Textiles, Directorate of Textiles, Government of Tamil Nadu, said: “Techtextil India 2025 weaves together leading innovators, policymakers and companies to frame appropriate policies for the growing industry. I believe that man-made fibres is the sunrise sector of the future. Concepts like sustainability and circularity will give rise to better technology that could help speed up research and development in India.â€
Sustainability themes dominated conference sessions, with discussions on circular supply chains, advanced recycling, bio-based materials and resource-efficient manufacturing aligning with India’s export-led growth ambitions. For exhibitors, the platform delivered direct business engagement. Shyamlal Patnaik, Joint President – Global Head Speciality Business, Birla Cellulose, noted: “Techtextil India is a great platform to interact with our customers… It also helps us to showcase our new products before genuine buyers.â€
The exhibition also witnessed key announcements, including a partnership between Brawntex Industries Pvt Ltd and Japan’s Kurabo Industries Ltd for fire-retardant fabrics. Product launches spanned high-performance fibres, speciality yarns, nonwovens, coating and finishing technologies, testing equipment and automation solutions.
Special features such as the Sporttech Pavilion and conferences powered by ITTA and SPE highlighted innovations in activewear, crop protection, smart materials and recycling technologies. The event concluded with strong momentum, setting the stage for the next edition as a comprehensive marketplace and knowledge forum for the technical textiles value chain.
