The monthly Index of Industrial Production for textiles increased 7.8 per cent in August this year compared with the same month last year. The cumulative index for textiles from April to August this year has also gone up marginally  1.1 per cent  from a year earlier.

As per the data available with the Government, the export of textiles and garments has shown an increase of 3.2 per cent during the last three years.

The Indian Government has approved the Amended Technology Upgradation Fund Scheme (ATUFS) in place of Revised Restructured Technology Upgradation Fund Scheme (RRTUFS) with a one-time capital subsidy for eligible bench-marked machinery for a period of seven years from 2015-16 to 2021-22.
