The National Skill Development Council (NSDC) has trained 1,000 workers from across various mills in Tamil Nadu. The workers who completed training in last two months received certificates at a job mela oganised by the Indian Texpreneurs Federation (ITF).

The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) has announced Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana Scheme (PMKVY) to facilitate the unemployed youth to get trained, certified and placed in various manufacturing sectors and gives financial assistance ranging from Rs 6,000 to Rs 12,000 depending upon the skill level and also Rs 2,500 for the existing employees to undergo recognition of prior learning training and get certificates.
Textile Sector Skill Council (TSC) has begun collating data from the mill sector to understand the industry?s job role training requirement, for submission to the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC).
