A memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed between Kumaraguru College of Technology (KCT), Coimbatore, and Indian Textile Accessories & Machinery Manufacturer’s Association (ITAMMA), Mumbai to establish a common facility centre for textile engineering industry at the campus of KCT under the Cluster Development Programme (MSE-CDP) of Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India.

S Senthilkumar, President, ITAMMA in his welcome speech mentioned that Government of India has recently proposed a drive in favour of indigenous manufacturing and taking several policy decisions to make its ´Make in India´ campaign successful; where changes have been made in import and export duty structures as well as excise and other areas which will help the textile engineering industry to make the business at ease.

Dhaka Int´l Textile & Garment Machinery Exhibition is being organized jointly by Bangladesh Textile Mills Association and Yorkers Trade & Marketing Service Co Ltd, and Chan Chao International Co Ltd, which was the 12th in the series and which received a tremendous response of 880 exhibitors from 32 countries occupying 1060 booths.

The Indian Textile Accessories & Machinery Manufacturer´s Association (ITAMMA) organised a seminar on ´Union Budget 2015 ´ Proposals related to direct & Indirect Taxes´ on March 4, 2015 at MC Ghia Hall, Mumbai. S Senthilkumar, President, ITAMMA, gave a welcome speech.

S Senthilkumar, Managing Director of Simta Machinery Pvt Ltd and Indo Germen Joint Venture, has addded a feather to his hat. He has taken the role of President of the Indian Textile Accessories & Machinery Manufacturers Association (ITAMMA).

1st January, 2015 was indeed a new beginning for ITAMMA members at Ahmedabad. On this auspicious day, ITAMMA initiated the formation of ITAMMA Lean Manufacturing Forum Group´II, by signing off the Tripartite Agreement along with National Productivity Council and AddValue Consulting Inc (AVCI).

One of the biggest problems India is facing today is the availability of clean water. A recent study indicates that by 2030 the water supply in India will be half of its demand – enough to significantly hamper the social & economic development of the country.
