An Italian textile machinery delegation will be on hand at the upcoming multi-industry Addis Chamber International Trade Fair (ACITF), to be held in Addis Ababa from 23 February to 1 March 2017. Ethiopia is an emerging production hub for the global textile and garments industry.

The orders index for Italian textile machinery dropped during the second quarter of 2016 due to negative export figures. According to ACIMIT President Raffaella Carabelli, the drop in machinery exports is due to the ?underlying political uncertainty?.

Despite some reduction in the export of Italian textile machinery to the traditional markets of China, India and Turkey, Italian textile machinery industry is optimistic of the rest of the 2015 and 2016 and is also having a positive outlook on the long-term prospects.
