The Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry´s (FICCI) 6th edition of Annual conference on textile and apparel Industry, ´TAG 2014´, held at the Hotel Taj Lands End, Bandra (West), Mumbai, focused on Driving Growth through Innovation in the Textile Industry.

Investment is a necessity for growth, but innovation is indispensable. In the Indian textile industry, this is a late realisation. India is No. 2 in textiles, everyone trumpets, but where are we? India´s share is about four per cent in global textiles and clothing, and China is way ahead with 36 per cent.

FICCI TAG 2014 conference took place on November 18, 2014 in Mumbai, which was focused on driving growth through innovation in the textile and apparel industry. A white paper on ?Driving Growth through Innovation?, prepared by FICCI and Wazir, was also released during the conference.

Acche Din´ for the Indian textile industry seemed to have come true, when the curtains came down after lively presentations and debates addressing an audience of over 400 on the second day of the 8th Asian Textile Conference (Atexcon), organised recently by the Confederation of Indian Textile Industry (CITI) at the Westin Hotel in Mumbai.
