The 7th edition of International Exhibition and conference on Technical Textiles i.e. Technotex 2018 is being organized jointly by Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) from June 28-29, 2018 at Bombay Exhibition Centre, Goregaon, Mumbai.
Having made its debut in 1994, Screen Print India exhibition, held bi-annually in Mumbai, has grown wider in scope covering not just screen printing but textile printing and digital printing.
Smriti Zubin Irani, Minister of Textiles, Government of India, underlined the need to address the issue of lack of manpower in the technical textiles for which industry needed to first define the requisite skills. After defining the skills, the task would be to bridge the gap in which the industry would be supported adequately by the Government of India.
The Indian textile industry should cheer up now. Though the modalities of how the Rs 6,000-crore bonanza, announced by the Modi Government for the textile industry, will take shape, there are enough hints that in a very few months, proper steps will be revealed. Murmurs of dissatisfaction are fading away, and the Amended Technology Upgradation Fund Scheme (TUFs) seems to have got the nod of approval from the industry.
