The SES-R will be demonstrated in 14 gauge at the show.

Shima Seiki Mfg, a global leader in flat knitting solutions, will participate in ITMA Asia + CITME 2025 in Singapore this October. Continuing its theme of “Shima Seiki Reborn”, the company reaffirms its passion and commitment to innovation, presenting its latest R-generation machines.

At the exhibition, visitors will experience the production version of the SES-R computerized knitting machine, evolving from the acclaimed prototype introduced at ITMA 2023 in Milan. Paying tribute to the iconic SES series that revolutionized modern shaped knitting, the SES-R introduces a new sinker system enabling advanced 3D shaping. Along with loop pressers and auto yarn carriers, the machine achieves complex intarsia, i-Plating inverse plating, and inlay knitting, supporting applications across apparel, sports, interiors, and industrial materials. The SES-R will be demonstrated in 14 gauge at the show.

Marking 30 years of Wholegarment knitting technology, Shima Seiki will also present the SWG-XR Wholegarment knitting machine—the evolved successor to the original SWG-X. Equipped with four needle beds and Shima Seiki’s patented SlideNeedle, the SWG-XR delivers high-quality fine gauge Wholegarment items with a 25 per cent productivity increase and an expanded patterning range compared to its predecessor. In Singapore, it will be exhibited in 18L featuring 15-gauge needles mounted at 18-gauge pitch.

Beyond machine innovations, Shima Seiki will showcase its digital ecosystem, including APEXFiz® subscription-based design software, web services under the Shima Seiki Online Services platform, and the new SDS KnitPaint-Online software, which offers proven knit programming capabilities as standalone solutions. Together, these tools streamline workflows and promote sustainable production practices.

Through these innovations, Shima Seiki demonstrates its commitment to delivering smart, speedy, and sustainable flat knitting solutions, reinforcing its role as an industry leader both today and in the future.
