Reliance Industries of India, the world´s largest producer of polyester fiber is venturing into needlepunch nonwoven manufacturing. Reliance Industries is installing two needlepunching lines to develop products that will cater to the automotive sector. The total capacity of the two lines will be 2,000 metric tonnes per annum.

Reliance Industries of India, the world´s largest producer of polyester fiber is venturing into needlepunch nonwoven manufacturing. Reliance Industries is installing two needlepunching lines to develop products that will cater to the automotive sector. The total capacity of the two lines will be 2,000 metric tonnes per annum. The lines will have the capability to produce fabrics ranging from 150 to 1000 GSM.

The nonwoven facility will produce calendared and finished needlepunched fabrics that would be supplied to a Tier I manufacturer. It is hoped that the lines will be commissioned in Ahmedabad, India by October this year.
