Ralph M. Paroli, Ph.D., of the National Research Council of Canada (NRC) in Ottawa, Ontario, has started his term as 2016 chairman of the ASTM International board of directors.
Since 2013, Paroli has served as a R&D director in Measurement Science and Standards at NRC. Prior to that, he was director of Building Envelope and Structure at NRC?s Institute for Research in Construction. He has more than 30 years of experience in spectroscopy and thermal analysis, including over 20 years of experience related to roofing. He has worked with many committees worldwide to develop new techniques to characterise roofing materials and systems.
