Hohenstein has completed the development of its new method for analysing microfibre shedding from textiles. Using dynamic image analysis, the method quantifies shedding behaviour and reveals previously unattainable data with practical implications for material development throughout the supply chain.

The latest innovation, WickView, is a state-of-the-art instrument that uses an advanced imaging system to track and record the transfer of moisture through fabric and other materials.

The aim of the project “Easy Nonwoven 4.0” was to increase the quality accuracy and the economic efficiency of the carding machine as a central, quality-relevant and highly complex machine in a carding web line using optical inspection technology and the aggregation of all relevant measurement data, say Cloppenburg F, Schlichter S and Gries T of the Institut for Textile Technology of RWTH Aachen.
