The inauguration of the Italian textile machinery training centre is slated for this month at DKTE´S (Textile & Engineering Institute of Ichalkaranji, India). Following the signing of an agreement roughly two years ago between the Association of Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers (ACIMIT) and the DKTE´S Textile & Engineering Institute in Ichalkaranji in the district of Kolhapur.

With an aim to grab one-fifth of the global textile business and increase exports to $300 billion in the next decade, the Government proposes to rejig labour laws, make special efforts to attract foreign investment and enter new markets with high export potential, such as Japan, China, Brazil and Russia.

The Cotton Association of India (CAI), the apex body for India´s cotton sector, will hold a conference, -´COTTON INDIA 2014´ from 24-26 November 2014 at the Renaissance Mumbai Convention Centre Hotel, Mumbai, India. This conference will be attended by a large number of delegates from across the globe especially the Indian subcontinent. Eminent speakers will share their experience and expertise.

Reliance Industries of India, the world´s largest producer of polyester fiber is venturing into needlepunch nonwoven manufacturing. Reliance Industries is installing two needlepunching lines to develop products that will cater to the automotive sector. The total capacity of the two lines will be 2,000 metric tonnes per annum.

In July, two Texas Tech researchers released their paper on the study of low-grade cotton and its ability to absorb oil. Seshadri Ramkumar, professor in the Department of Environmental Toxicology, and Vinitkumar Singh, a doctoral candidate in the same department, led the research project, which started in the summer of 2010 after the Gulf of Mexico oil spill, Ramkumar said.

In head-to-head fluid resistance tests, the soft, lightweight gown has been shown to deliver four times greater fluid protection than other non-reinforced gowns in the same category.

Marvel Gloves Industries offers the x-lite range of niromex brand Chainmail Gloves manufactured by Friedrich Münch GmbH Co KG, a German company. x-lite is a new ring mesh that weighs up to 30 per cent less in comparison to conventional ring meshes. x-lite is less in weight, which has a positive influence, especially in extensive protective clothing that has to be worn for a whole day.
