Make in India has been a major programme of our Prime Minister and rightfully so as we have truly lagged behind in the manufacturing sector. There have been many conferences, programme and discussions on the same ´ the press is always full of mention of Make in India. We ourselves are a manufacturer who sell domestically and also export across the globe.

Vietnam’s garment and textile export in the first nine months this year posted the lowest growth rate for the last ten years, reported Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (Vitas). The down growth rate has been caused by import reduction from some major markets of Vietnam where have met with economic difficulties and the Britain’s exit from the EU.

Cotton yarn exports in India declined by 11.58 per cent in terms of value and 4.44 per cent in terms of volume during April – June this year compared to the same period last year. Cotton yarn exports to China, being the major consumer has declined. China imported 149.66 million kg of cotton yarn during the first three months of last financial year (2015-2016) and it dropped to 99.09 million kg during the same period this year. The decline in exports started in April 2014.
