Akash Kirit Marfatia has partnered with an Austria-based company Lenzing to produce plant-based silk.

The garment makers in Bangladesh have requested the government to ease down the conditions for the import of cotton, yarn, and other fabrics as Bangladesh has started to receive orders from international retailers and brands.

The government notified that the RoSCTL scheme for textiles exporters and said the duty credit scrips under this support measure would be issued without insisting on realisation of the export proceeds.

The growth in cotton yarn and product exports will affect the consumption of cotton in 2021. The consumption of cotton is recorded at 7.3 million bales which is 700,000 more than last year.
