Mafatlal Industries aims 25% growth

Mafatlal Industries (MIL), the flagship company of Arvind Mafatlal Group, estimates to close the current financial year with 25 per cent increase in its turnover at Rs 1,250 crore as compared to Rs 1,013 crore previous year.

“We will close this financial year with a sales turnover of around Rs 1,250 crore, out of this total revenue the school uniform and corporate uniform divisions of MIL share alone will be Rs 540 crore,” said a senior company official.

The company offered first-of-its-kind 10 per cent discount on online sales of fabric on the occasion of Holi which yielded a robust response. The one-day offer yielded fabric sale of 4.1 million metres worth Rs 32 crore on the occasion of Holi.

Mafatlal has nearly 600 dealers using the app regularly and after this Holi special offer, the number of users who booked orders online increased to a whopping 1570 dealers / retailers.

The objective was to promote and bring all Mafatlal dealers and retailers to online sales mode through the Mafatlal online app also available on mobile phones (android based), and soon it will be available for i phone users, said the official.

MIL recently forayed into readymade school and corporate uniform garments of impeccable style. Till now, Mafatlal was market leader in school & corporate uniform fabrics in India.

The company has an ambitious plan to touch Rs 500 crore business within the next five years only in the readymade uniform category. Mafatlal is expected to do around Rs 75 crore in the current year in corporate readymade uniform business.

M B Raghunath, President (Marketing & Sales) of MIL stated that all India market size of uniform fabric is around Rs 8,000 crore and annual growth rate is around 10 per cent.
