Teijin Aramid launches Teijinconex Coolnex

Teijin Aramid has launched Teijinconex Coolnex Stretch: a unique flame resistant and durable stretch fabric that easily moves with you. Teijinconex Coolnex Stretch is a solution for workers that need Flame Retardant (FR) protection work wear that is also comfortable. Already available in Japan, Teijin Aramid now introduces Teijinconex Coolnex Stretch in the EMEA region.

The latest addition to the Teijinconex family of fabrics is a unique single-layer, high performance textile that combines the best in FR protection with built-in stretch and recovery.

The fabric is exclusively engineered with Solotex stretch technology. Solotex is a special patented fibre solution, exclusively engineered by Teijin Frontier Co., Ltd. This revolutionary material offers excellent fabric memory, elasticity and flexibility, making fabrics made with “Solotex inside” the perfect alternative. Originally developed for casual wear, Teijin’s textile engineers now have applied it for FR protective clothing.

Coolnex Stretch meets a need in the market for comfortable FR work wear. If garments are not comfortable, workers won’t be able to do their job properly and personal safety maybe at risk. Current fabric solutions for work wear use polyurethane (spandex, elastane), which are susceptible to reduced stretch and recovery over time, have poor abrasion resistance, poor chemical resistance and are not durable after laundering. Teijinconex Coolnex Stretch on the other hand offers inherent stretch, meaning that performance is maintained after laundering and keeps its stretch/recovery functionality over time.

Àngels Cornellana Morros, Product Manager Teijinconex Fabrics, Teijin Aramid: “Contrary to common believe, there is no need to choose between comfort and safety in protective work wear. FR durable work wear can now also be comfortable. The unique qualities of the Teijinconex Coolnex Stretch fabric make it the ideal solution for maximum mobility and superior FR protection in high activity environments.“
