About 1,050 exhibitors, 38 countries, 17 chapters, 11 exhibiting halls, 24 product launches over six days of exhibition makes India ITME-2016 the largest and apex exhibition for textile machinery and technology in India and one of the most-awaited business event for the textile industry members.

About 1,050 exhibitors, 38 countries, 17 chapters, 11 exhibiting halls, 24 product launches over six days of exhibition makes India ITME-2016 the largest and apex exhibition for textile machinery and technology in India and one of the most-awaited business event for the textile industry members.
Gujarat and Karnataka, two key states with a strong presence of textile industry, are participating in this event as State partners. This once-in-four-year mega event is also supported by the Department of Heavy Industry, Textile Ministry, and Government of Maharashtra as a State Partner, making it the most important platform for the Government officials and the industry members to interact and work together. This is the only textile engineering exhibition having such a strong presence and participation from the State and Central Governments, whereby the idea of ‘Make in India’ in textile engineering segment shall be promoted to the visiting foreign business visitors and also propagate Government schemes and incentives for the textile industry in India.
India-ITME received goodwill messages from President of India, Prime Minister, Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Textile Ministers of Gujarat and Karnataka, Textile Ministry, Department of Heavy Industry and Bureau of Indian Standard (BIS), indicating the interest and importance of this international event for the country at the government levels.
ITME will have senior officials from universities in Bangladesh, Philippians, Myanmar, Ethiopia, etc. visiting. It will offer people to interact and meet with Indian educational institutions and technology and graduate students/faculty exchange programme. It has a very strong presence and participation from prestigious institutes in India and overseas.
India-ITME Society is a nonprofit organisation with a vision to support the industry through exhibitions facilitating investments and joint ventures and technology transfer. Foreign and domestic business visitors, academicians, research scholars, and Government officials from neighbouring regions such as Philippians, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Iran, Turkey, Brazil, Indonesia, Poland, Malaysia, Kenya, Ethiopia and Egypt are visiting ITME and looking at India as an opportunity for business and investment. India is not only a strong market but also is explored as a hub for training and skill development by many neighbouring countries in the field of textile and textile engineering.
The demand for textile machinery is growing in India. The growth of industry is based on increasing demand of textile and apparel market in India. The textile sector is one of the largest contributors to India’s exports with approximately 11 per cent of total exports. India’s overall textile exports during FY2015-2016 stood at $40 billion and the industry is expected to touch $223 billion by 2021.
The textile industry, being the second largest employer after agriculture, has to strengthen its base for quality output accepted at international level. India is now developing in multifolds in most of the sectors specially in the spinning machinery manufacturing segments. This mega exhibition will be a trend setter and gateway to new customers in urban Indian market as well as in the rural market. All the major machinery manufacturers from across the world are converging under one roof at ITME.
However, India-ITME 2016 is not just about business, it is also about creating a platform for students and craftsman of the country to showcase their talent and creativity to the world. Amidst whirring of the modern machineries, “Weavers of Maharashtra” shall display the magic of creating beautiful weavers of Himroo, Paithani, block printing and tie dyeing, which is traditional fabric craft of Maharashtra.
Photo art gallery displaying wildlife and ethic India by renowned photographers Dilip Bhatia and Hari Santharam shall add to the visual delights of the visitors. Enjoy the creative design from the students of MIT Pune and experience the colours fabrics, fusion of modern and aesthetic fashion from the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT). Put a stitch and participate in creating a global textile artwork at ITME 2016.
