German and European manufacturers of laundry and textile cleaning technology are optimistic as they look forward to Texcare International which opens its doors from June 20 to 24 in Frankfurt, Germany. This leading international trade fair is globally the most important technology platform for the laundry and dry-cleaning sector.

“All exhibitors at Texcare International are looking forward to the fair with great expectations. The currently increasing demands for sustainability and hygiene long for new investments in machinery and technologies. After a mixed year 2019 all Texcare exhibitors expect that this year’s leading international trade fair in Frankfurt will once again provide a lasting impulse for revitalizing the international textile care sector”, says Elgar Straub, Managing Director VDMA TFL (Textile Care, Fabric and Leather Technologies).

With its extraordinary breadth and simultaneous density of international exhibitors and a very comprehensive program of panel discussions featuring high-ranking experts at the Texcare Forum, Texcare International is once again the leading worldwide technology marketplace for the laundry and dry-cleaning sector.

This year, the most important focus will be on the topic of sustainability. On the consumer side, awareness of sustainability is increasing worldwide rapidly and with it the demands on industry for more sustainable and resource efficient production. International authorities like the EU Commission are also prioritising the topic. The EU Commission’s Green New Deal will also concern and shape the textile care industry in the coming years. In this context, the topic of circular laundry is also rapidly gaining in importance.

After many very successful years, the entire VDMA TFL industry is looking back on an unstable year 2019 and economy experienced a significant slowdown. Incoming orders for the entire TFL industry (including garment and leather technology) deteriorated by 7 per cent in Germany in real terms in 2019. In the same period, sales declined by 6 per cent in real terms compared to the same period in the previous year. Thus, after a series of years of growth our industry took a respite in 2019.

European manufactures of laundry and textile cleaning technology are very important suppliers for India. Germany and Italy are the second and third most important suppliers for India, the first is China. Due to increasing health and hygiene standards, the Indian market holds a lot of potential for European manufacturers.

Texcare International is the leading international trade fair for the laundry and dry-cleaning sector. From 20 to 24 June 2020, international exhibitors will present the latest machinery, plant, processes and services for laundry and dry-cleaning technology.
