Kid Interior is the first Norway-based company to source Cotton made in Africa (CmiA)-certified cotton. CmiA cotton is cultivated under strict ethical standards, with independent organisations regularly monitoring to check whether fair working conditions are ensured for CmiA smallholder farmers.
According to CmiA, all home textiles from Kid Interior that carry the CmiA quality label are produced on the African continent, thereby creating job opportunities within the African textile value chain.
“Trainings enable cotton farmers to increase their yields and thereby income, and since these farmers practice rain-fed cultivation only, a t-shirt produced with CmiA-cotton saves more than 500 litres of water,†it added.
