Karl Mayer launches 1st ML 46-210″ in India

For the first time in Inda, Karl Mayer launched its multibar lace machine, model ML 46 210´ in Surat, Gujarat.
It was a great day for Zenith Silk Mills Pvt Ltd in Surat, when the first-ever Karl Mayer´s Multibar Lace machine, model ML 46 210´ in India was kicked off to a start by Vasantbhai Jariwala, President of the Zenith Group recently in Surat. The event acquired a special importance since the sophisticated lace machine was launched in the presence of Arno K H Gartner, CEO, Oliver Mathews, VP (Sales & Marketing), Bastian Fritsch, Senior Sales Manager, all of Karl Mayer, Germany and Kevin Socha, MD of Karl Mayer (HK) Ltd; and also Anuj Bhagwati, MD and GV Aras, Director of A.T.E. Enterprises Pvt Ltd. Zenith Group, with the presence of Paresh Jariwala and Nirav Jariwala, Directors, being the first to acquire such a high-end machine, was at the centre of attraction. It was a pride of moment for Karl Mayer, when its CEO Arno Gartner, announced his company´s intention to increase its footprints in India by launching a 100 per cent subsidiary in Ahmedabad. Said Gartner: ´Looking at the great scope of warp knitting in India in the last two years, we have now decided to have our own set-up in Ahmedabad, which will be officially opened tomorrow.´

Anuj Bhagwati spoke about the partnership of A.T.E. with Karl Mayer and also the Zenith Group. ´In India warp knitting has a long way to go, but still we have made good progress, though it cannot be compared with China. There are about 300 warp knitting machines functioning India, most of it in Surat.´

Oliver Mathews gave a presentation of the ML 46 210´ lace machine, and explained how it has created the right conditions for increasing the production output by as much as 50 per cent. The ML series is one of KARL MAYER´s best-selling product ranges. Above all, the current trend for decorating garments with lace, which can be seen in Asia in particular, has stimulated demand for the Multibar Lace machines. The ML 46, with its high number of guide bars, has a width of 210´ and is particularly interesting for producing laces for sarees and other dress materials for women. The ML 46 comprises guide bars arranged in eleven shog lines, a warp beam stand, a creel on top, and the 13 D batching unit.

Said Oliver Mathews: ´Karl Mayer has been working in association with A.T.E. Group in India for the last 40 years or so, and in 2009, it launched its after-sales service. In 2012, Karl Mayer introduced its Academy in Surat to train technicians to operate their warp knitting mahcines. This has been a very successful move.´

The ML series of raschel machines is setting the standard in the fashion sector, as well as in the production of traditional garments. With their gauge of E 24, these machines are catering for the continuing trend for light, delicate plain fabrics and lace.

Highly productive with a width of 210´
The machines in the ML series have an excellent cost:benefit ratio. At a width of 134´, they can reach speeds of up to 900 min-1, and the machines having a width of 210´ are extremely productive, especially when producing saree fabrics  four 50´-wide fabric panels can be produced next to each other simultaneously. The working width of 210´ is therefore ideal for producing this traditional Indian style of dress, as shown in the picture.

In addition to being fast, the multibar raschel machines are also user-friendly, accurate and flexible. The pattern can be changed with very little time and effort. This enables customers to produce even small batches efficiently, and react quickly to changing market trends.

The fabrics produced on the Multibar Lace machines are delicate and more or less open, and feature continuous net grounds. The patter
