Indo-Czech meet on specialty textiles

Technical textiles have emerged as an important segment for not only to textile industry but for all material sciences and medical sciences. The Indian government has launched a massive programme for the promotion of technical textiles and material engineering. Throughout the world at many levels research and development is taking place in these frontier areas of technology. The Department of Textile Technology, Kumaraguru College of Technology, Coimbatore, India, is always in the front in promoting new technology and giving opportunity to researchers, academicians and students to share their knowledge and findings. The department has in the past conducted many joint conferences at international level in association with leading foreign universities such as Technical University of Liberec, Czech Republic and Texas Tech University, US.

It is proposed to conduct yet another international joint conference in association with Technical University of Liberec, Czech Republic in the theme "Advancements in Specialty Textiles and their applications in Material Engineering and Medical Sciences" on 23-24 April 2014. In this joint conference it is proposed to cover innovative developments in Technical Textiles, recent developments in medical textiles, composites, geo textiles, sports textiles, nonwovens, agro textiles, besides latest research in related fields.
