Huntsman International India Pvt Ltd (HIIPL), the manufacturer and marketer of differentiated chemicals has announced the recertification of its Responsible Care® accreditation by Indian Chemical Council (ICC). The Responsible Care® certification will be valid till Dec 2021.  HIIPL had secured its first certification in Oct 2015.

Responsible Care® is a voluntary commitment by the global chemical industry to drive continuous improvement and achieve excellence in environmental, health and safety performance. (https://www.icca-chem.org/responsible-care/).  It is implemented in India by ICC (Indian Chemical Council) through a framework of commitment, gap assessment, verification audit leading into an award of Responsible Care® logo.

Commenting on this development, Harshad Naik, Managing Director, India Subcontinent, Huntsman, said, “At Huntsman, safety and sustainability are integral to the way we function. Renewing our Responsible Care® certification is a testimonial of our everlasting commitment to the highest standards of Environment, health and safety in our operations. We thank the Indian Chemical Council for recognising our quest for performance excellence.”

“Responsible Care® is implemented as a business programme at Huntsman.  This strategy allowed us to integrate environment, health, safety and sustainability considerations in every business operation across the value chain. The key drivers were employee engagement and outreach to external stakeholders including our community programmes.  This recertification recognises the passion of Huntsman teams for continuous improvement.” said Dr Kamlesh Kushalkar, Head of Corporate Environment, Health and Safety Management
