Groyyo announces appointment of Chief Business Officer and VP Commercial

The company is impacting manufacturing output for SMEs across Asia through technology and a solid leadership team.

Groyyo, the cross-border manufacturing and supply chain enablement platform in fashion and lifestyle is strengthening, its leadership with key appointments. The company has appointed Smita Verma Kansal, former SVP & Founding member at Geniemode as Chief Business Officer in Abu Dhabi. She brings on-board a wealth of expertise from her roles at Geniemode and Brands and Sourcing Leaders Association (BSL). The company also recently appointed Alessandro Bertini asVice President – Commercial, whose expertise in business development with brands, strategy, and assortment will be instrumental in the company’s expansion and growth.

Under their leadership, Groyyo aims to transform its business expansion strategies and continue to innovate and build industry leading platform solutions, to fulfill its mission to digitise over 20 million SME Manufacturers across Asia & enable them to take their business global.

Smita Verma Kansal brings 26 years of experience in providing strategic and operations leadership in versatile and challenging situations. She possesses strong Sourcing, Negotiation & Management skills necessary for building successful business operations across multi product categories in Bangladesh and India region for UK, Europe & US Markets. An alumnus of IIM Kashipur and the prestigious NMIMS, Smita has served across various roles in Triburg, Li & Fung, PDS and Pepkor Global Sourcing.

Smita has been appointed as Chief Business Officer at Groyyo, where her focus will be on onboarding additional marquee international brands, building on the existing successful partnerships with Mango, Next, and Inditex. With the expertise she brings, she will also be a key decision maker in leading growth of the company’s exports to the U.S. and further expand Groyyo’s global presence. Alessandro Bertini, fondly called Alex by his colleagues, brings extensive experience in the fashion industry, having worked with renowned brands such as MANGO, Massimo Dutti, Miroglio Group, Zalando. He has successfully managed business partnerships with Esprit, S.Oliver, Tom Tailor, Benetton Group, DK Group, Desigual, Armani, Next, and more in his previous roles.

Groyyo is the world’s first manufacturer-first automation platform, bringing millions of manufacturing MSMEs together on a single platform, and helping them grow their business. Founded in July 2021, by Subin Mitra and Pratik Tiwari, Groyyo was started to introduce technology to the neglected small-scale factories in Gurgaon with an order management app. The company has empowered over 500 manufacturers across 175+ product categories in more than ten countries by maximising their manufacturing potential till August 2024.
