Gildan Activewear is to build a new knitting facility in Costa Rica, a location that will ensure the company has duty-free, quota-free access to its major markets in the US. The site, in the north-western province of Guanacaste, is also close to Gildan´s sewing plants in Nicaragua and accessible to ports on both the eastern and western coasts of the Central American country.
