What are the market prospects for A.B. Carter’s products in India and how do you plan to position these products?
Since 2003, A.B. Carter India has ben the only global ring and ring traveller manufacturer in India. Our motto has been “Glocalisation- A.B. Carter is a global company with local manufacturing capacity able to provide products and services to our customers without putting in risk the supply chain. Our value proposition to the spinning industry is providing world-class products/ services at competitive prices at your door step!

Can you brief us about the marketing strategies that were applied in order to stand out in the competition among industry? How is your company meeting the challenges of the markets demands today?
Our unique technological advantage in terms of our unique metallurgy, speed to market, response time and R&D centre is our key differentiation with our competitors!

As a leading provider of spinning spares, how important is the textile sector to you?
We are a niche supplier of rings and travellers with expertise in these products, and continue to invest in enhancing technology for our customers.

Which are the major products for the textile industry? What are its USPs?
A.B. Carter is a one-stop solution provider for textile industry with the tag line “Our products your solution….” A.B. Carter Inc was established in the year 1922. Almost a century of rich expertise in rings and ring travellers for optimum utilisation! Our cutting-edge technology in terms of our unique metallurgy superiority and deep engineering/application expertise!

Have you resumed manufacturing activities at all your plants? What are the key challenges faced by you at present and how are you handling these challenges?
We are manufacturing at 70 per cent capacity during this challenging time. Fortunately, we do not depend on migrating labour, more over we have our work-force located around our facility itself, due to which we have been able to handle the challenges. Yes, there are hurdles in logistics and supply chain does get affected, however our channel partners have adequate stock of rings and travellers, that does ease out the anxious delivery situations.

To tide over COVID crisis, Government has announced various schemes for industries. Will it lead to gains for Indian companies, in general, and A.B. Carter, in particular?
We are still interpreting the various schemes that were announced, but of all, only those related to labour/land reforms could contribute a timely impact.

The Government of India has unveiled Atma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan. Will it help in making India a global manufacturing hub? Are there any drawbacks (or shortcomings) in this mission?
A.B. Carter is 100 per cent “Make in India” company exporting almost 35 per cent of our supplies!

Modernization and automation is increasing across industries. What is the significance of this for A.B. Carter?
Machine atomisation with high precision and state of art technology is the turning point to our brand image!

Does your company have any future plans to expand or diversify into other related fields? Give some details, if so.
A.B. Carter is a part of the BSR Group, also having varied business interests in technology, electrical, defense, automotive, real estate, power tools, textiles and appliances.

What are your growth plans for the company? Are you recalibrating your growth strategy due to COVID 19?
Yes, we will have to revisit our growth plan post-COVID. It is too early to predict as the situation is dynamic!
