To drive their process flexibility and offer customers the best service, Teijin Aramid has appointed EuroFibers BV as premium supplier of Twaron based ripcords types. In concrete terms this means that as of January 1st 2019, ripcord orders can be placed at EuroFibers, who will handle the complete order process. The Twaron-based ripcords from EuroFibers are called Ripo RC and Ripo WB. Besides this, EuroFibers introduces a new type called Ripo PS, which is a colored non-wicking ripcord available in orange, blue and red. EuroFibers ensures that their ripcord products meet the same standards as the current Teijin Aramid products.

Hendrik de Zeeuw, Business Unit Manager Cables & Composites at Teijin Aramid: “Thanks to the market-leading capabilities of EuroFibers, it is expected that, in the future, Twaron-based ripcords will be able to be further upgraded, such as by coloring and anti-wicking.

”EuroFibers has a dedicated mission in offering smart fiber solutions that enhance features of High Performance Fibers like Twaron, Technora, Dyneema, Vectran and Zylon. Marcel Alberts, Managing Director, says: “I am very proud of the fact that the world market leader in aramid fibers has given us the confidence to transfer this business to us. We will do everything in our power to give our customers the best possible service and highest quality and to respond even better to the demands from the market and the wishes of the customer.”

Thanks to its unique properties, Twaron filament yarn can help manufacturers address these demands. Twaron filament yarn comes in a variety of forms and can be used in a wide range of applications where high performance is required, including ballistic-protection products, composites, cut-protection products, elastomer reinforcements, heat-protection products, optical fibre cables, reinforced thermoplastic pipes, ropes and cables, and tires. To meet the different requirements of manufacturers, Twaron filament yarn is very versatile and adjustable. It is available in standard modulus filament yarn (twisted or untwisted) with 250-10,000 filaments, high-modulus filament yarn with 250-15,000 filaments, and high-tenacity filament yarn with 500-2,000 filaments.
