The meeting is planned to take place at the district collector’s office.

The Trichy district administration, in collaboration with the state textiles department, has scheduled a sensitisation meeting for entrepreneurs on November 22. The purpose of this meeting is to encourage the establishment of mini textile parks within the district. In this meeting, senior officials from the regional deputy director’s office of the textiles department will engage with the entrepreneurs. The meeting is planned to take place at the district collector’s office.

It was explained by officials that the scheme was initiated to boost the textile industry across all districts. According to the scheme, the textiles department is committed to offering a maximum subsidy of Rs 2.5 crore for the development of immovable infrastructure dedicated to textile manufacturing units. Additionally, the state government will financially support common infrastructure requirements. This includes funding for supportive infrastructure, such as a common facility centre with laboratories, as part of the scheme.

Investors were informed that, in order to qualify for the subsidies, a minimum of two acres of suitable land and the establishment of a special purpose vehicle (SPV) with at least three members are prerequisites. Eligible entrepreneurs will be required to submit a detailed project report of their proposal to the textiles department to access the subsidies.

For further details, interested entrepreneurs from the Trichy district were advised to get in touch with the officials at 04324-299544 and 98432-12584.
