Foor more than 45 years, the world’s leading brands, manufacturers, and creative professionals have been using Datacolor’s innovative solutions to consistently achieve the right colour. This year at ITMA, Datacolor tied up with Adobe to launch a set of innovative tools to help streamline the process of digitally designing prints for fabrics.

Speaking about the collaboration, Dustin Bowersox, Market Manager, Textile & Apparel, Datacolor, said “The collaboration pairs Datacolor’s professional colour lookup tool, ColorReaderPRO, with Adobe’s newest plugin for Adobe Photoshop: Adobe Textile Designer. The integration of ColorReaderPRO with Adobe Textile Designer software allows designers to measure color inspiration in the real world and transfer the data to Photoshop automatically via Bluetooth connection.”

Many designers use Photoshop when starting fabric designs, but with the introduction of Adobe Textile Designer, users can now build and preview repeating patterns, define separations, work with colorways and keep every element editable in Photoshop until a design
is print ready. With this Adobe plugin, designers can use Datacolor ColorReaderPRO to measure any source of
colour inspiration and translate the colour data directly
to Photoshop.

Datacolor is a global leader in colour management solutions, providing software, instruments and services
to assure accurate colour of materials, products, and images. The world’s leading brands, manufacturers, and creative professionals have used Datacolor’s innovative solutions to consistently achieve the right colour.

The company provides sales, service, and support to over 100 countries throughout Europe, the Americas, and Asia. Industries served include textile and apparel, paint and coatings, automotive and plastics as well as photography, design and videography.
On other launches at ITMA, Bowersox and Qian Eschbach, Global Director, Branding and Marketing Services of Datacolor, said, “We have launched launched colour management solution for textile and apparel.”

Added Bowersox, “Datacolor is a global company and we have experts working with us in all the regions of the world. We speak the same language. In cost effective terms, our products are cheaper. We want to grow our brand base so that we can promote our programme.”

Datacolor showcased its comprehensive colour workflow solutions at ITMA. Featured solution included SpectraVision, a solution enabling businesses to objectively measure and digitally communicate the colour of previously unmeasurable materials, including multi-colour prints, trim, yarn, zippers and lace, thereby saving costs and significantly shortening the time from concept to consumer.

Said Bowersox, “Datacolor also highlighted its new colour lifecycle management solutions intended to deliver greater transparency and confidence for both textile and apparel brands, as well as suppliers, mills and dye houses. Additional industry solutions aimed at reducing costs
and shortening production time includes: Formulation software (Datacolor Match Textile); colour quality
control software (Datacolor Tools); high-end desktop spectrophotometers (Datacolor 800 family); portable spectrophotometers (Datacolor check 3); lab dyeing and dispensing equipment (Datacolor Ahiba IR, Datacolor AutoLab TF and Datacolor Lightbooth); and ultra-portable colour measurement device for digitally communicating colour inspiration and on-the-go quality control (ColorReaderPRO).”
