Baldwin introduces Textile Spray Applicator for Asia

Following last year’s successful introduction of its Textile Spray Applicator in Europe and the United States, and with the constantly increasing demand for energy, water and chemistry savings, Baldwin launched its new industrial spray system for textile finishing and impregnation on the Asian market. The product was presented at ITMA. The Spray Applicator technology has been available in the printing industry for more than 30 years, with Baldwin’s 40,000 installed units making it a market leader.

Now adapted for the textile industry, the Textile Spray Applicator system is designed to reduce the environmental footprint of the production and increase productivity, while also reducing cost. The system is equally suitable for wet-on-wet applications as for wet-on-dry.

One of the most significant benefits of the Textile Spray Applicator is the reduction in the amount of chemistry and water applied. This not only saves on precious resources, but also reduces the amount of energy required to dry the textile after treatment.

This allows for significant energy savings and possibly an increase in production speed. The quick change of chemistry can lead to major productivity increases.

In traditional methods, the change may take 15 to 30 minutes. With Baldwin’s Spray Applicator, the change takes less than five minutes that, with multiple changes a day, can frees up hours of valuable production time. “The feedback we have from the market confirms that green profile of the Baldwin Spray Portfolio answers well to the trends in textile manufacturing. Our solutions will not only help companies reduce their environmental footprint, they will also present large opportunities for increasing production capacity and reduce chemistry use and energy that translate into substantial savings in production cost,” said Per Stenflo, Vice President, Product Line Spray. Baldwin also offers a range of infrared, hot air and LED UV technologies to accelerate the drying and UV curing of coatings on textiles, enabling increased line speed and introducing new applications, as well as surface cleaning systems for textile surfaces and their manufacturing lines, which will allow higher automatisation of the processes and reduce safety risks. Baldwin’s advanced filter technology will reduce waste of chemicals and water..
