Arvind Ltd plans to buy around one million metres of khadi denim every year from the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC). An agreement between Arvind Mills and KVIC was signed in Ahmedabad.
After signing the agreement, Arvind Ltd?s Executive Director Puneet Lalbhai said that they plan to purchase approximately one million metres of khadi denim every year. Under the MoU, khadi denims and other khadi products made by Arvind Ltd will bear KVIC?s certification mark.
This deal will not only enhance the khadi sales annually by Rs 40 crore but will also increase the economic stability of khadi artisans across India, by providing them Rs 2 crore as extra incentives?, KVIC Chairman Vinai Kumar Saxena said.
