Rajesh Shah, Senior Vice President – Sales, AGS, speaks on the plans for ITMA as a visitor and as an exhibitor for principal companies.
How many ITMAs has your company attended. Please share your company’s experience in the international markets with reference to participation in other exhibitions too.
We have always participated in ITMA as a visitor and not as an exhibitor, attending our principal’s stall to take care of our Indian visitors. From India, most of the high profile visitors such as CEOs, Directors, MDs, CMDs, Presidents, Vice Presidents, Dying Managers, Printing Managers attend the show. Our principals—X-rite Inc of USA, Copower Technology of Taiwan, CST of Germany, AREL of Israel and TREGI SISTEMI of Italy—are exhibiting their state-of-the-art products in ITMA 2019.
What are the machinery/accessories your company will be displaying during this ITMA Barcelona? What are their unique features and applications?
Our principals, as mentioned above, are showcasing their latest range of products for textile dyeing and printing application for laboratory as well as production automation.
X-rite range of products are mandated and approved by most of multinational buying houses and retailing companies for their color control across the supply chain.
Copower is participating in ITMA for the first time and is exhibiting its world’s best automatic dye weighing and dispensing systems for laboratory.
AREL from Israel is pioneering in dyehouse automation for automatic liquid chemical dispensing, dye weighing, dissolving and dispensing for production machines.
TREGI from Italy and are showcasing its latest production dispensers for liquid and powder chemicals apart from dye weighing and dispensing systems for production machines. TREGI is worldwide known for its printing paste preparation and dispensing system for printing department.
CST of Germany is world’s most pioneering company for engraving technology for rotary and flatbed printing machine screens.
NOVA a part of CST is manufacturing eco-friendly, green technology rotary nickel screens stripping machine.
How have your company’s products been doing in the global export markets? In which year did the company make a breakthrough and how has this progressed through the years?
All our principals are worlds pioneering companies and are in the industry for many years now and established as the most preferred companies to work with. Their innovative products are very well accepted worldwide. Apart from this after sales support of these companies are well at place.
In the recent past, has your company entered new markets, and if so, which are the ones and for which products?
Yes. From X-rite Inc, we supplied the world’s first ERX130 Inline Spectrophotometer for the denim manufacturing application, which was till now established as best product for online colour control in paper, coil coating and glass industry.
CST has recently developed products from the graphics industry.
Is your company fully or partially dependent on foreign technology or inputs? Or are the products totally indigenously made? Give your comments on your competitive strength.
Yes. All our products are imported and support aftersales is totally indigenous take care by our engineers who are factory trained at our principal’s factory.
With some new countries entering textile production and also a few reshoring and revival of textile industries, do you see any rise in demand for your products globally?
Products from all our principals are very well accepted and mandated across wide spectrum of industries in textile dyeing and printing apart from our industries.
What are the future prospects and problems that your company is facing in raising its share for its products/machinery in the global market?
Products from AREL, Copower and TREGI are facing stiff competition from eastern European country such as Turkey with their low-cost products matching the international requirements.
Promoting machinery effectively through exhibitions abroad is very important for the industry and the country in these days of globalisation. Do you have any suggestions/advice for the industry and the Government in this regard?
We are visiting our eighth ITMA and are confident and sure of meeting most of our potential customers at the show. Hence, we have convinced Copower, our principals, to participate in the show for the first time. They are very eager to meet the wide spectrum of customers from all over the world apart from India, far eastern countries where they already have their base.
