Thanks to its distinctive expertise bridging both AC and DC power technologies and spanning the worlds of both conventional and renewable energy, AEG Power the company creates innovative solutions for smart grids. AEG PS global footprint includes 17 subsidiaries and competence centres around the world with 1,600 employees.

AEG Power Solutions Group is the sole subsidiary of the holding company 3W Power SA (WKN A0Q5SX / ISIN LU0953526265), based in Luxembourg. The Group is headquartered in Zwanenburg in the Netherlands.

Sridhar Murthy, Managing Director of AEG Power Solutions, says his company offers expertise and ability to position itself as an undisputed market and technical leader in new markets of power solutions. In between his busy schedule, he conveyed to the Editor of The Indian Textile Journal through an email interview the abilities and aspirations of the company.

Excerpts:

ITJ Editor: What are the strengths & offerings of AEG Power in projects for the textile industry?
Sridhar Murthy: AEG Power Solutions has a strong background of Power Electronics and has supported textile industry not only in the areas of providing uninterrupted power supply systems, but also on setting up the solar power plants for captive generations which will help them to reduce their monthly electricity bills in addition to the incentives given for meeting the RPOs.

ITJ Editor: Can you please give some details about Nahars solar project executed recently?
SM: Solar Project for Nahar was one of the prestigious projects which was awarded to us on turnkey solutions based on our previous projects and the practical energy yields. This was executed in a very short time considering the harsh environment at site during execution of the project. The plant size is 5 MW and is expected to generate about 7.5 million kWh of energy per annum.

ITJ Editor: Apart from Nahars project, what other projects for textile industry had been executed in the past? What are the projects in pipeline?
SM: We have executed a similar project for LNJ group as well who are in a similar business. However setting up a Solar power plant in a Textile environment may not be different from setting a Solar industry in different environment. Another area of focus for textile industry would be implement roof top systems of shorter plant sizes.

ITJ Editor: Will the renewable power projects provide the final solution for the power-starved textile industries in some States? Give some details about their viability.
SM: Renewable projects with storage solutions will certainly help in improving the situation in power starving states. This will not only help the textile industries themselves, but also helps in reducing the burden on power requirements once the power plants are set up and start generating the energy and pump it to the grid or to the loads.

ITJ Editor:What are the future strategies of AEGPS in the power segment?
SM: Power electronics is part of the current energy revolution towards more decentralised and resilient power supply solutions, and for solutions contributing to integrate better renewables in the grid. AEG PS combined expertise in both AC and DC power supply and in renewable energy as well as medium voltage power supply and control for critical applications is quite unique. Markets trends see an increasing demand for complete energy management solutions and micro-grids. AEG Power Solutions has the expertise and ability to position itself as an undisputed market and technical leader in these new markets, l
