Sandeep Shetty, Director and BR Nand Kishore, Head ? Sales & Marketing, A.B. Carter India Pvt Ltd, are on a hectic schedule of business preparing for the big event, India-ITME 2016. They are excited and even hint at the launch of a new revolutionary range of rings and ring travellers, while speaking to the Indian Textile Journal, in an exclusive interview.

ITJ: Now that your expansion must have been over, what is the present capacity of rings & travellers? How was the expansion carried out? Please trace the developments since its birth.
SS & BRN: In 2007, A.B. Carter Inc USA forayed into the Indian market by setting up J/V on outskirt of Bangalore, solely set up for the high quality rings & ring travellers for Indian market. Over the last decade with A. B. Carter we have witnessed rapid growth, year on year of domestic market by a growth of 20 per cent. We have now also doubled our rings & ring travellers capacity to almost 2.5 million rings per annum and 1,20,000 ring traveller boxes per annum.
 
ITJ: What are the various ranges of products that have been launched in the recent years since ITMA Milan? What are their USPs and advantages over that of your competitors?
SS & BRN: A.B. Carter?s main focus is for the spinner to overcome the challenges foreseen in compact spinning application where the speed factor has to be met, with minimum start-up end breaks and over-all end breakage to be less and appreciable quality parameter levels. 
A. B. Carter has launched the Xcalibur Rings which has a superior sustainability to higher speeds and better quality output factors. A. B. Carter?s new range of Ultra Ring Travellers have been more effective in achieving higher spindle speed with considerable lesser downtime for higher productivity.

ITJ: How has been the response to your company?s products in the recent years since ITMA Milan? Please mention some of the special orders and their execution.
SS & BRN: We have bagged prestigious orders over the years and today almost most of the top premium spinning units are either buying rings or ring travellers from us.
We are extremely honoured to be the OEM supplier to a world class customer like KTTM having supplied more than 1.5 million rings till date. A.B. Carter has had encouraging response from the elite clients like to name a few: Vardhman Group.
Nitin Spinners, Premier Spg Group, Precot Group, KPR Group, RAMCO Group, Thiyagarajar Group, GTN Group, Sutlej Group and Chola Group.
 
ITJ: What about the export markets of the neighboring countries? How has A B Carter India been faring in these markets?
SS & BRN: A.B. Carter is a global company, with offices in five countries and agents in 44 countries, exporting to Turkey, Egypt, South America, North America, Brazil, Pakistan and Bangladesh to name a few. A.B. Carter?s field support technical staff is averaging 25 years of textile experience.
 
ITJ: What are the plans for India-ITME in December 2016? What will be the strategies?
SS & BRN: A.B. Carter is planning to launch a new range of rings and rings travellers.
 
ITJ: What about the future of rings & ring travellers in India? If it is bullish, what are your reasons and how will AB Carter India will face the challenges?
