Textile leaders discuss sustainability, innovation and high-value textiles in Paris.
Neelam Shami Rao, Secretary in the Ministry of Textiles, held discussions with representatives from the European and French textile, apparel and fashion industries at Le Bourget in Paris to strengthen global cooperation in the textile sector.
The discussions focused on expanding India-France and India-European Union partnerships by leveraging India’s textile heritage, manufacturing capabilities and growing presence in global markets. Both sides explored opportunities in sustainability, circularity, innovation, fashion and high-value textiles.
The Ministry of Textiles highlighted the shared commitment to strengthening industry-to-industry collaborations and developing resilient, sustainable and future-ready textile value chains.
Rao, along with representatives from the Indian textile industry, also visited Première Vision and Texworld Paris, Europe’s leading professional trade fairs for fabric and garment sourcing. Around 75 Indian exhibitors showcased the country’s capabilities, product diversity and strengths across the global textile ecosystem.
