MP leads PM MITRA Park rollout and boosts CM Yadav’s industrial drive

Madhya Pradesh has emerged as a frontrunner in implementing the Centre’s flagship PM MITRA (Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel) Park scheme, with the Union Government officially approving the project for Dhar district along with a funding package of Rs 21 billion. This development marks a significant milestone in Chief Minister Mohan Yadav’s broader strategy to boost industrial development and employment generation across the state.
Yadav stated that the allocation of Rs 21 billion by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the Dhar park—located in a predominantly tribal area—represented a remarkable achievement for the state. He said the project was expected to create nearly three lakh job opportunities. He further noted that the park’s establishment would help revive Madhya Pradesh’s legacy as a centre for the cotton industry, promote cotton cultivation, and contribute to improving the economic conditions of farmers. The chief minister also pointed out that the initiative aligned with the Prime Minister’s “5F” vision—Farm to Fibre to Factory to Fashion to Foreign—designed to transform Madhya Pradesh into a national textile powerhouse.
As part of its commitment to industrial growth, the state government has declared 2025 as the “Year of Industry and Employment.” In pursuit of this goal, a series of Regional Industry Conclaves, roadshows, and interactive sessions have been organised to attract investments. The Global Investors Summit (GIS) held in Bhopal in February yielded investment proposals amounting to Rs 30.77 trillion. Raghwendra Kumar Singh, Principal Secretary of the Industrial Policy and Investment Promotion and MSME Departments, has been playing a key role in advancing the Chief Minister’s industrial vision.

The park is designed to foster an integrated textile ecosystem, incorporating advanced infrastructure, sustainability measures, and supportive policies. Key features will include a 20 MLD zero liquid discharge effluent treatment plant, a dedicated solar power facility, plug-and-play factory units, and residential zones for both workers and managers. The project is being developed through a special-purpose vehicle established jointly by the central and state governments, with the MP Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC) appointed as the master developer.
Industry enthusiasm has surged, with investment commitments crossing Rs 100 billion. Several agreements have already been signed with leading national textile and apparel associations. MPIDC Managing Director Chandramauli Shukla informed that construction activities were progressing rapidly, with roads, power lines, and water infrastructure already under development. He added that the entrance gate to the park had been completed and major external infrastructure was expected to be finished by June 2025. Plans are also underway to establish vocational training centres to prepare local youth for employment in spinning, weaving, and garment production.
With its integrated social and industrial infrastructure, the PM MITRA Park in Dhar is poised to become a cornerstone of Madhya Pradesh’s industrial transformation and a key driver of the state’s textile-led growth.
