TeraSpin introduces spindle with Smart Yarn Catcher

For many years, the spinning industry has been grappling with the major issue of accumulation of residual yarn on a ring frame spindle at the end of each doff. The accumulated residual yarn needs to be cleaned manually at regular intervals, which takes many man-hours. It also increases the machine down-time, reduces productivity and efficiency of the ring frame and increases yarn waste.
So far spindles on ring frames with auto doffers were equipped with cutter and knurling or seal-bands (made from a material with a hook-and-loop structure). However, such spindles do not grip the yarn positively at the end of each doff. The only way to hold the yarn on these spindles so that the winding of yarn on bobbin can start automatically during next doff is to have at least two to three rounds of yarn wound on the knurling or the seal-band. This causes a pile-up of residual yarn on each spindle at the end of each doff, which ultimately builds-up into a thick bunch of residual yarn on each spindle over a period of time. This yarn accumulation has to be cleaned at each individual spindle at regular intervals – and that takes many man-hours.
Spinning mills now have an excellent solution to this age old issue. TeraSpin, which has introduced many novel technologies to the spinning sector, has now developed and introduced a unique solution – a Smart Yarn Catcher that is an ultimate solution to eliminate the residual yarn on spindles – with no manual cleaning work, and no production loss!
The TeraSpin Smart Yarn Catcher is self-cleaning. The amount of residual yarn left behind after every doff is so small that it is expelled by centrifugal forces alone – putting an end to cleaning, which is a major pain area in the operation of ring frames.
Salient features of the TeraSpin Smart Yarn Catcher:
  • Automatic opening & closing of clamping faces with change in spindle speed
  • Clamping faces open at 9500 rpm
  • Clamping faces close at 3000 rpm
  • Firm grip of yarn between upper & lower clamping faces which can align precisely with each other due to special springs
  • Nylon cutter for yarn cutting
Benefits of TeraSpin Smart Yarn Catcher:
  • Minimum yarn used for clamping
  • No accumulation of residual yarn – the flat annular clamping faces enable the clamped yarn to move out of device easily by centrifugal forces
  • No cleaning of residual yarn – less labour hours
  • Reduced start-up breaks
  • Improved ring frame productivity
  • Very long service life
