The Textile Association (India) has elected the new office bearers for the term 2014-2015 during their Governing Council Meeting held on 05-07-2014 at Ahmedabad. During the Governing Council Meeting DR Mehta welcomed and thanked all the present G.C. Members and he shared his views about the progress and activities carried out during his tenure of National President of TAI. Also he expressed the future activities of TAI for scaling new height globally. After the discussion on Meeting Agenda, the election of President and Vice President was carried out. Arvind Sinha and Dr Anil Gupta were the candidates for the post of President and KD Sanghvi was the only candidate for the post of vice president.
Sinha has been elected by majority votes succeeding Dr Anil Gupta. KD Sanghvi has been elected unopposed as Vice President.
Looking to the initiative taken by DR Mehta, Immediate Past President, for the growth and development of TAI, the Governing Council appreciated his meticulous services rendered by him and honoured as President Emeritus. VD Zope is the chairman and Haresh B Parekh is the honourary General Secretary.
Other members elected were Dr NN Mahapatra, Vice Chairman; MG Shah, Hon. Jt. Gen. Secretary; Virendra Jariwala, Hon. Jt. Gen. Secretary; VN Patil, Hon. Treasurer; Dr MD Teli, Co-opt Member; Dr HVS Murthy, Co-opt Member; Prof Ashwin Thakkar, Co-opt Member; and JB Soma, Co-opt Member.
