FTAs to boost India’s textile exports: AEPC chairman
Free trade agreements (FTAs) with Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom and the European Union (EU) will help boost India’s textile exports, according to the Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC), whose chairman A Sakthivel recently said the government should pursue FTAs with these countries as they hold tremendous potential for India’s exports.

The DGFT has notified vide Public Notice No. 67/2015-2020 dated March 30, 2016 that “Textiles Committee” would also be one of the competent agencies to issue Certificate of Origin (COO) under certain Free Trade Agreements (FTAs)/Preferential Trade Agreement(PTAs) along with the other Authorised Agencies.
