Owing to the rise in demand of Liva, the new age fluid fabric from the Aditya Birla Group, Shree now boasts a production of 2,50,000 garments per month made from Liva from just 15,000 garments per month.
Ethiopia earns $31.2 million in exports

Over the last three months Ethiopia has earned 31.2 million USD from textile and garment export, disclosed the Ethiopian Textile Industry Development Institute. The Institute also stated that the foreign currency generated from the textile sector has been steadily growing.

Texfair 2017 in Coimbatore ended on an optimistic note with the textile industry looking forward to a happier 2018. With more than 50,000 small, medium and large-scale industries and textile mills in an around Coimbatore and Tirupur, an event as big as Texfair, which focuses on textile machinery, accessories and spares, is a must for the Southern market of India. In its 11th edition, Texfair 2017, organised by the Southern India Mills’ Association (SIMA), provided a platform for the stakeholder to zero in their investments and expenses prudently, showcase their inventions and cost effective items and other products, enable the technocrats and shopfloor technicians to update their knowledge on the latest technology and create an awareness on cost cutting, to encourage micro, small and medium entrepreneurs also to showcase their products and get exposure to the market. Texfair 2017 was held from November 17-20, 2017 at Codissia Trade Fair Complex, Coimbatore.
Sweden keen on tie-up with Aditya Birla Group on smart textiles

Sven-Erik Bucht Minister for Rural Affairs from the Ministry of Enterprise and Innovation Sweden arrived in Mumbai to discuss a joint project on smart textiles involving potentially Aditya Birla Group, Swedish company Domsjö and the two governments as well as the European Union. The minister visited the Aditya Birla Group Textile Research Application Development Centre at Kharach in Gujarat, which is India’s pioneer in viscose staple fibre (VSF), a man-made, bio-degradable fibre with characteristics akin to cotton. The prime aim of this visit is to boost development on smart textiles from using VSF, cellulosic fibre and pulp as an alternative to cotton and hence the Aditya Birla group is a natural fit with its easily blendable cellulosic fibre.
