Staubli perfects jacquards
This year Staubli has produced Jacquard fabrics on four weaving machines at its ITMA Asia stand for the first time. As a noteworthy premier, Staubli demonstrated the production of lining fabric on the world´s most modern Jacquard machine, the type SX, in conjunction with a water-jet weaving machine operating at a rate of over 1,000 weft insertions per minute.
New Cellulosic Process
Scientists in Finland say they are close to perfecting a new, more sustainable process for the production of man-made cellulosic staple fibres, which uses ionic liquids to dissolve wood pulp.
