Export curbs taking huge toll on spunbond nonwoven
The multiple restrictions on exports of Spunbond nonwoven fabric and masks, and regulation of their prices in the wake of the outbreak of Covid-19 cases since March, has taken a huge toll on the Spunbond Nonwoven fabric industry, an industry association has said and demanded that the restrictions be lifted immediately.
Price volatility, a hurdle to cotton industry growth
The cotton price has been fluctuating in tandem with international price unlike earlier cotton seasons. The global cotton price ruled high during the last cotton season which continued till the beginning of the new season.
Cotton king under siege?
Cotton imports by China in June have fallen by 26 per cent already. The see-sawing of prices in major countries including India is causing a lot of anxieties. Chinese prices are under pressure from significant left-over commercial stocks as well as sales of state reserve cotton, kicked off recently.
