TexMin clears 51 handloom projects in Chhattisgarh
The Indian Textiles Ministry has received 56 proposals during the last three to four years from Chhattisgarh Government under the National Handloom Development Programme (NHDP) out of which 51 were approved with a projected cost of Rs 17 million.
TexMin to market handloom products online
The Textiles Ministry has engaged 21 e-commerce companies so far for online marketing of handloom products. MoU signed for yarn supply to weavers
The State Industries Department of Bihar has signed an MoU with the National Handloom Development Corporation (NHDC) to provide yarn on credit to weavers for 45 days. Bihar, in fact, became the first State in the country to sign such an agreement with NHDC and the State Industries Department has created a corpus of Rs 1 crore for this scheme.
SIMA hails duty hike on imported polyester fabrics
In the GST regime, countervailing duty has been replaced with IGST and the special additional duty has been scrapped. Polyester attracted 10 per cent basic customs duty, 12.5 per cent CVD and 4 per cent special additional duty in pre-GST regime.
