BCI joins ICA
The Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) has become a member of the International Cotton Association (ICA). It now joins Supima, the Bangladesh Cotton Association, the Brazilian Association of Cotton Producers, the Spinners & Weavers Association of Korea, the Australian Cotton Shippers Association and Turkey´s IPUD, who have all signed up to ICA membership and safe trading.

Cotton output to fall, mill-use to rise
The projection for world production in 2015/16 is 111.3 million bales, which represents an 8 million bale decrease (-6.7%) relative to the 119.3 million bales harvested in 2014/15. The forecast for world mill-use in 2015/16 is 115.3 million bales
India cotton exports down from last year
Current cotton exports from India are lagging compared to last year. According to a recent statement from Mumbai based Cotton Association of India, the export demand for Indian cotton is limited at this point.
